02 / WELLNESS · A MORE UNHURRIED STAY

Make space
for doing less.

A restorative break is as much about a workable schedule as a treatment menu. Start with access, then leave some time unfilled.

Put wellness in the right context

Perla combines hotel accommodation, entertainment and wellness in an urban resort setting. Its wellness offering can make a city break feel more relaxed, particularly when you prefer to stay under one roof between activities. It is not the same experience as travelling to a remote thermal retreat. The advantage is convenience; the trade-off is that the wider property has an active, social purpose beyond quiet relaxation.

Before choosing a package, consult the resort’s current wellness information. Pools, sauna facilities and treatment availability may have separate hours, capacity limits or temporary closures. This guide does not guarantee access to a particular facility on a particular date. If wellness is the main reason for your visit, ask the resort to confirm the specific facilities and services you expect to use before making a non-refundable reservation.

Separate entry from treatments

A hotel room, a wellness admission and a booked treatment are different products, even when they appear together in a promotional package. Establish exactly what your rate includes. Ask whether access is available every day of your stay, whether arrival and departure days count, and whether time limits or advance reservations apply. If robes, towels or lockers are important to your plans, check how they are supplied and whether deposits or charges apply.

Compare a package against the room-only total plus the services you would genuinely purchase. A generous-looking bundle is not necessarily economical if its treatment times conflict with your arrival or its inclusions are not useful to you. Conversely, a clearly defined package can simplify planning. No current treatment prices are quoted here because menus, duration options and seasonal offers need to be checked with the provider.

Choose a treatment by purpose

Decide whether you want gentle relaxation, a beauty appointment or attention to tired muscles after travel. Those goals may lead to different services. Read the actual treatment description and duration rather than selecting by an evocative name. Ask whether the listed appointment includes consultation and changing time, and whether preferences such as lighter pressure can be accommodated.

Share relevant allergies, sensitivities, pregnancy or health concerns directly with the spa team before booking. A spa appointment is not a substitute for diagnosis or medical care. If you are unsure whether heat exposure or a treatment is appropriate for you, seek advice from a qualified clinician. You do not need to send medical details to this independent website; we cannot assess treatment suitability or pass confidential information to the resort.

Know the practical etiquette

Ask staff about swimwear and textile rules for each area; pool and sauna expectations may differ. Follow posted guidance rather than assuming the rules are identical to those at another hotel. Shower where required, respect quiet areas and keep phones and photography away from shared changing and bathing spaces. A relaxed environment depends on consideration for other guests as much as on the design of the room.

For children, confirm age limits, permitted hours and supervision requirements separately for pools, saunas and treatments. For mobility needs, ask about changing facilities, step-free routes, seating and the actual method of entering the pool. General hotel accessibility does not establish that every wellness facility is independently usable. Specific questions before arrival are more useful than an assumption based on a broad facility description.

A day with some breathing room

Keep arrival day uncomplicated. Check in, establish the wellness timetable and take a short walk before committing to a tightly timed appointment. On a full day, choose one main treatment or wellness session and allow a comfortable gap before dinner. If you also plan to explore Gorizia or the surrounding wine country, avoid placing the appointment immediately after an uncertain return journey.

Drink water, rest when you need to and follow staff instructions around heat and bathing. Avoid combining alcohol with sauna or pool use. A simple plan may be the most satisfying one: breakfast without rushing, a manageable outing, time to change and a quiet evening meal. The aim is not to collect the largest number of facilities in a single afternoon, but to return to your room feeling that the day belonged to you.
